  • Ballot Propositions

The El Dorado County Republican Party endorses YES on Proposition 98. Protect our property and restore our private property rights. Currently, the government has the right to take our property, our homes, family farms and small businesses to build big box stores, stadiums, hotels and more. Prop 98, known as the California Property Owners and Farmland Protection Act, protects family farms, private property owners and open space from seizure by governments wanting to profit from development. Supported by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Assoc., California Farm Bureau, California Alliance to Protect Private Property Rights and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Read more at: www.yesprop98.com.

The El Dorado County Republican Party endorses NO on Proposition 99. Backed By Democrat Legislature. According to Califorina's nonpartisan Legislative Analyst's Office. Prop. 99 "is not likely to significantly alter current government land acquisition practices." Yet developers and politicians spent $4,000,000.00+ to put 99 on the ballot when it does almost nothing! WHY? They don't want you to vote Yes on 98 so they are trying to trick you into voting for 99 instead. Prop 99 takes out every protection for farmers, small business and rented homes. It looks like it protects homeowners but has virtually no protection. Worse yet, if 99 gets more votes than 98, it kills all of Prop 98's protections for everyone. Read it for yourself in your voter guide.

Don't Vote Yes On Both. It Prop. 99 gets more votes, it has a poison pill effect and will invalidate all the property rights benefits of Prop. 98!
